2009 TRIP: ...follow up on some we treated and the need to continue in prayer

Just received this email from Marilee. Great to hear an update on some loose ends that Hariet has faithfully filled us in on. Let's not neglect to continue in prayer for Kiburara, Pastor Moses and the children & families that we ministered to.

Hi all, Well I'm trusting you all made it home safely! I just got home this evening after spending a few days in Kampala. I almost extended my flight an extra week...I was not ready to leave at all! I called Harriet on sunday morning before leaving just to say goodbye and see how the rest of their week went. She said they were very busy and saw quite a few patients. She also said she returned back to the home of the HIV+ child and family and is taking them this thursday to get the other wife/children tested and to check their CD4s. Even more importantly though, when we were talking she said she was actually on her way back over to their house (hut) to go pick them all up for church!! so Praise God for that! She also gave me an update on the child with the myelomenigocele. She said the neurosurgeon arrived and they were in Mbarara as of yesterday. She will be tranferred out to Mbale and is set to have the operation this week. As far as the other child with the open fontanelle, she said that she will be taken there in April to be evaluated. Harriet re-iterated over and over just how much she appreciated our work. She said they are all so grateful for each and everyone of us and look forward to us coming back... so anyone ready to start planning the next trip with me? ;-) Marilee
